Company History
Way back in 1954, two brothers decided that they wanted to build a better golf cart than the designs that existed at the time. Beverly and Billy Doolan founded E-Z-GO® in a one-room machine shop in their hometown of Augusta, Georgia. Their vehicles soon became extremely popular among golfers across the country, which resulted in a rapid expansion of their operations. Soon, E-Z-GO® was also responsible for building personal transport and utility vehicles in addition to their golf cart lines, with improved designs and high-quality features that made driving these vehicles a breeze.In 1960, Textron Inc. acquired E-Z-GO®, operating it under their Textron Specialized Vehicle division. Every year, E-Z-GO® manufactures thousands of golf carts and other small vehicles, and because Textron is committed to sustainability and eco-friendliness, newer designs incorporate features that maximize these attributes. In fact, the company was even chosen as one of Industry Week’s top ten manufacturing plants in North America, which says something about what you can expect from their vehicles.
